DeviceLab is developing a surgical device prototype utilizing LabVIEW for both the user interface and the control system. This first-of-its-kind prototype will be used in a test environment only. The prototype incorporates an array of sensors and servos in automatic feedback mode. The LabVIEW development team has completed an intuitive, touch-screen, graphical user interface that displays a large amount of data in an easily understood format. Because the device is designed for life-saving, critical procedures, multiple safety features and alarms are incorporated and controlled by the software. Upon completion, the final product will be used for monitoring a surgical procedure.
 
LabVIEW-based, medical software development has become a core competency at DeviceLab. LabVIEW’s flexibility expedites product development cycles and lowers engineering costs.
