DeviceLab’s “futuristic patient care environment with all the bells and whistles.”

DeviceLab Inc., an Orange County medical device design and manufacturing company, today announced its participation at OCTANe’s Medical Device & Investor Forum 2015 November 2–3 at Hotel Irvine in Irvine, California.

The conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the most relevant and timely topics in the medical device industry and will feature five keynotes, four panel discussions, two plenary sessions, 10 startup company presentations, three VIP events, 50 innovation showcase companies and numerous opportunities for top-tier networking.

The company will again be exhibiting a unique display that was first presented earlier last month at DevCon 2015, described by DeviceLab CEO and founder Dac Vu as a “futuristic patient care environment with all the bells and whistles.”

Featuring a full-size translucent mannequin on a custom-designed examination table, the display demonstrates DeviceLab’s state-of-the-art capabilities for developing cutting-edge electronic systems—in particular, the Apollo™ wireless medical device electronic systems platform that was introduced last year. The platform is integrated in the internal structure of the patient bed, simulating various medical applications such as monitors, device controls and touchscreen color displays.

Named after the mythological Greek god of healing and medicine, the Apollo platform is DeviceLab’s solution to address numerous, medical industry needs, including rapid development time, longevity in product lifecycle, RTOS certified for safety critical applications and robust processing capability.

Apollo seamlessly and rapidly integrates multiple complementary technologies such as touchscreens, sensors, RFID, wireless charging, digital signal processing and IO devices (e.g., USB). The system is designed to facilitate smooth transition between sensors, algorithms, signal processing, systems control and color graphic displays.

Connecting with the Orange County Medical Device Community

Along with exhibiting at MDIF 2015, DeviceLab will be participating as a sponsor, which he feels privileged to do, especially since the event is described as “an environment where large company executives, entrepreneurs, investors, academicians, and strategic business advisors can come together to grow Orange County’s dynamic technology ecosystem.”

“As the owner of an Orange County medical device design company, I’ve been very grateful for how the OC medical device community has helped nurture us,” said Vu. “I fully support the spirit and mission of OCTANe, and I’m proud for DeviceLab to be a MDIF 2015 sponsor.”
